On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, the official website and X account for Me and the Alien MuMu anime unveiled the show's first promotional video. According to the short clip, the anime is set to premiere in Spring 2025. Information regarding the anime's new cast members and the main staff has also arrived.

The Me and the Alien MuMu anime is an adaptation of Hiroki Miyashita's eponymous (Uchujin MuMu in Japanese) manga series. In April 2019, Miyashita-san launched the manga as a one-shot in Shonen Gahosha's Young King Ours magazine. Two months later, the series eventually received a green light for serialization in the same magazine. The company has released seven tankobon volumes thus far.

The first trailer shared by the official staff shows that Me and the Alien MuMu anime will premiere in Spring 2025. A narrower release date will be revealed later.

The short video features the cat-like alien MuMu, Sakurako, and other important characters who will appear in the series. The PV gives fans a glimpse of MuMu and Sakurako's daily lives, filled with humor and fun adventures.

Notably, newly announced cast members for Me and the Alien MuMu anime are Yasuyuki Kase as Decimaru, Yuriko Hibi as Miwa Samezu, Gakuto Kajiwara as Akihiro Tsurumi, Hidenobuchi Kiuchi as Wataru Tenkubashi, Yukio Fujii as Sonoko Kagetsu, and Kentaro Kumagai as Tamotsu Rokugo.

It was previously announced that the new VA, Momo Harumi, would star as Sakurako, while Etsuko Kozakura would voice MuMu. More cast members will likely be announced in the future.

According to the latest information, Tomoya Takahashi directs the sci-fi alien anime at OLM Studios, with Keiichi Ochi handling the scripts. Keiichi Ochi has previously worked in Go, Go, Loser Ranger! and Girlfriend, Girlfriend anime. Kenji Ota has joined the staff as the character designer, while Kuricorder Quartet is credited as the music composer.

Based on Hiroki Miyashita's manga, Me and the Alien MuMu anime follows the story of a cat-like alien, MuMu, who has arrived on Earth. MuMu desperately wants to acquire knowledge about home appliance technology on Earth to recover the technology his species has lost back home.

Interestingly, MuMu arrives at the home of Sakurako, a college student. The cat-like alien's arrival changes the girl's life. The anime will explore the unique chemistry between Sakurako and MuMu, which leads to many chaotic events.
