On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Atlus announced a manga adaptation of its upcoming medieval fantasy JRPG game, Metaphor: ReFantazio. According to the announcement, the manga will be serialized in Shueisha's V Jump monthly magazine with Yoichi Amano's illustrations. However, a release date for the manga is yet to be disclosed.

Notably, Atlus and Studio Zero's full-scale Japanese fantasy role-playing game is set to release on October 11, 2024, on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Windows PC in both physical and digital modes. The company released a playable demo for the game on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, ahead of its official launch.


V Jump magazine to serialize Metaphor: ReFantazio manga with Yoichi Amano's art

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Atlus, the Japanese video game company, held the World Metaphor Summit live stream during the Metaphor: ReFantazio game's completion ceremony at the Tokyo Game Show 2024. During the live stream, the official staff announced a manga adaptation of the upcoming fantasy role-playing game.

According to the announcement, the Metaphor: ReFantazio manga will be serialized in Shueisha's V Jump monthly magazine. It's the same magazine where Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is serialized. Yoichi Amano, who has previously worked on Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Ana no Mujina, will be in charge of the manga's illustrations.

The official X handle for the game has also confirmed the manga adaptation with a teaser visual, featuring the playable protagonist (no canon name has been given yet), and his partner and companion, Gallica, the fairy. More information about the manga adaptation, including the release date, will be revealed in the future.

Aside from the manga adaptation's announcement, Atlus released a playable demo for the Metaphor: ReFantazio game, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The saved data from the demo will be carried over into the full game, once players purchase the official title. The full-scale role-playing game will be released on October 11, 2024, on PS4, PS5, Xbox X/S, Windows PC, and Steam, in digital and physical versions.

The game launches a Collector's Edition, which includes, an artbook, a steel book, Homo Tenta Metallic Pinks, Kingdom of Euchronia cloth map, costume and battle BGM, and also the DLC voucher. Additionally, fans can enjoy a digital edition with bonus items. The game is already available for pre-order on digital stores.

Developed by Studio Zero and Atlus, Metaphor: ReFantazio game serves as a new IP for the video game company, after the Persona franchise. According to the official website, the narrative is set in The United Kingdom of Euchronia, where the King's assassination brings unrest, as the land becomes embroiled in a Royal Tournament for the empty throne.

Amidst all these, the protagonist, with his partner, Gallica, has to find a way to break the curse from the Prince, whom the kingdom believes to be dead. As such, they embark on a journey. Soon, the protagonist discovers that they must participate in the Royal Tournament to turn things around.
