Who is Tanjiro from Demon Slayer?
Tanjiro Kamado, the eldest son of Tanjuro and Kie, is the main protagonist of Demon Slayer. After his father's death, Tanjiro started selling charcoal to support his family. This task took him to the village the night Muzan Kibutsuji murdered his family. To avenge his loved ones and find a cure for his sister Nezuko, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps. He bears a striking resemblance to his ancestor, Sumiyoshi Kamado, sharing the same large red eyes and the iconic green and black-checkered kimono.
From the beginning, Tanjiro showed incredible potential as a swordsman. His abilities grow significantly throughout the series, far exceeding those of an average human. Is Tanjiro Kamado related to Yoriichi Tsugikuni?
No, Tanjiro Kamado and Yoriichi Tsugikuni aren’t related in any way but Yoriichi did know Tanjiro’s ancestor Sumiyoshi and Suyako Kamado. The Demon Slayer saved the Kamado family from a demon attack and remained a close friend of the family after that. So much so, that he even gave them his Hanafuda Earrings, which have been passed down in the Kamado family all the way to Tanjiro.
The only way Tanjiro and Yoriichi are connected, outside the earrings, is the fact that they wield Sun-Breathing but as Yoriichi died after his wife and child passed away, he has no direct descendants. However, Muichiro Tokito is Yoriichi’s only living blood relative as he is the descendant of the child that Michikatsu Tsugikuni, Yoriichi's twin brother, left behind after he became a Demon Slayer.
