Anna Cockrell, a two-time medalist at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. She was born to Serena and Kieth Cockrell on August 28, 1997. Anna is the youngest in the family. In 2016, Cockrell graduated from Providence Day School, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she competed in the school’s high school track and field program trained by coach Carol Lawrence. In June 2019, Anna Cockrell achieved a milestone by becoming the NCAA champion in the women's 400-meter hurdles at that year's NCAA Championships. She further distinguished herself at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru, where she earned a silver medal in the women's 400-meter hurdles and contributed to securing a gold medal in the women's 4 × 400-meter relay.
During the 2020 Summer Olympics, Cockrell advanced to the semifinals after placing third. In the semifinal round, she recorded a second-place finish with a time of 54.17 seconds; however, she ultimately finished seventh in the final and was later disqualified.
At the Paris Olympics in 2024, Cockrell won a silver medal in the women’s 400-meter hurdles event. She secured this medal by finishing just behind Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, achieving a personal best time of 51.87 seconds.
