Anna Hall, born on March 23, 2001, is an American athlete specializing in combined events. Her remarkable achievements include winning the silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2023 World Championships and the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships. Hall also holds the North American indoor record for the pentathlon.


Hall's Personal best scores in the heptathlon and pentathlon place her fifth and fourth respectively, on the world all-time lists. She is the only woman to run the 400-meter hurdles in under 55 seconds and to break 6700 points in the heptathlon. Hall also boasts a personal best of 50.82 seconds in the 400 meters. A three-time U.S. national champion, she won two NCAA Division I titles representing the University of Florida.


Hall grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, near Denver. Her father, David, was a three-sport letterman at the University of Michigan, and her sisters, Kathryn and Julia, also excelled in sports. Hall started track at age seven initially focusing on the high jump and 1500 meters while also skiing, playing soccer, volleyball, lacrosse and field hockey, and swimming.


Hall began high school at Arapahoe before transferring to Valor Christian where she became a three-time New Balance Nationals pentathlon champion and the 2018 high jump champion. She set national high school records in the pentathlon and heptathlon in 2018 and debuted internationally at the World Under-20 Championships in Finland.


Representing the University of Georgia from 2019-2021, Hall faced a significant setback, in 2021 when she broke her foot during the Olympic trials. After recovering from surgery, she transferred to the University of Florida. In 2022, she won the SEC indoor title in the pentathlon and the NCAA Division I indoor and outdoor pentathlon and heptathlon titles.


Hall turned professional in August 2022, signing with Adidas. She set the North American pentathlon indoor record in February 2023 with 5004 points and won the 400-meter title at the same meet. In May 2023, she achieved a world-leading score of 6988 points at the Hypo-Meeting in Austria, setting personal bests in five events. Hall's performances secured her a spot at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
