Born on May 1, 1995, in a small town of Minnesota in Saint Francis, Dakotah Lindwrum has established herself as one of America’s top long-distance runners.
Lindwrum set her aim as a long-distance runner after setting foot on the cross-country team at Northern State University in South Dakota. Winning the Division II National Championship and earning multiple All-American Titles marked her transition from a college athlete to a professional long-distance runner after her graduation in 2017.
Lindwrum’s victory in the Women Run the Cities 10Miles and the USTAF Minnesota 8k Championship in 2018 brought her to the limelight. She was victorious in the prestigious Grandma’s Marathon over consecutive years. As a result, in 2022 she secured her name in the Hall of Fame as the 12th fastest American Woman Marathoner.
In February 2024, Lindwrum’s dedication brought her third place in the US Olympics Team Trials marathon earning her a spot on the American Olympic team heading for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
