Two-time Olympic gold medalist and former world no. 1, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, is a runner and hurdler. She was born on August 7, 1999, in New Jersey, in the United States. In June 2024, she broke the world record with a time of 50.65 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles during the U.S. Olympic Trials.
McLaughlin-Levrone became the first female to break the 52-second and 51-second barriers in the 400-meter hurdles, setting four world records between June 2021 and July 2022. In the World Championships in 2019, she took home the silver medal. She further won gold in the women's 4 × 400 m relay team at the 2019 Doha and 2022 Eugene World Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
