Saina Nehwal won her quarterfinal in straight games

Defending champion and top seed Saina Nehwal defeated Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in straight games 21-16 21-13 to progress through to the semifinals of the China Open Superseries Premier on Friday.
The opening game saw the Japanese dominate proceedings as she took a 5-2 lead before Saina came back to first square the score at 5-5 and then take the lead in the game. Once Okuhara let the advantage go, there was no way back for her as the World Championship silver medalist raced away with the game to seal it 21-16.

The second game was much more one-sided in favour of the Indian as compared to the opening game as Saina dominated proceedings right from the word go and was also helped by numerous unforced errors from Okuhara. Saina eventually clinched the game 21-13 and progressed through to the final 4 of the tournament.
Saina will take on Wang Yihan of China in the semifinals on Saturday.
