The second day of the 2015 Vietnam Open saw the likes of Ajay Jayaram, Shreyansh Jaiswal, Sameer Verma all progressed through to the third round of the competition while in the Women’s singles, Lalita Dhaiya crashed out of the tournament
Jaiswal won his first round match against Eizlan Shah Misfahul Muneer of Malaysia in straight games 21-10 21-14 in 24 minutes to move into the next round where he will take on Mohamad Arab Abdul Latif of Malaysia.
The Indian played his second round match on the same day against Andre Kurniawan Tedjono of Indonesia 21-15 21-13 and will now take on
RMV Gurusaidutt also made it to Round 3 of the competition after defeating Khosit Phetpradab of Thailand 23-21 21-19 in 45 minutes. The Indian will face Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo of Indonesia in the next round
Anand Pawar though didn't have the best of times as he lost to Muhammad Bayu Pangisthu of Indonesia 21-14 18-21 21-16, but Sai Praneeth had no such issues as he beat Hoang Nam Nguyen 21-10 21-18.
Ajay Jayaram also moved into the third round of the tournament after beating Firman Abdul Khalik of Indonesia 21-18 14-21 21-17 and will face Kento Nishimoto of Japan in the coming rounds.
India will also kick start their doubles campaign on Wednesday as the likes of Arun Vishnu, Aparna Balan and the other will look to put forth good performances and move further into the competition, even as the deadline for the qualifying in the Olympics narrows down.
