India’s Ajay Jayaram entered the semifinals of the US Open Grand Prix Gold after beating fellow countrymen Anand Pawar 21-11 21-11 in the quarterfinal stage on Friday.
The younger of the two Indians was in full control from the start, racing away to a 6-0 lead in the opening game before making it 11-6 at the interval. After the break, he continued to dominate proceedings, not allowing him to settle down at any point to eventually clinch the game 21-11.

The second game seemed like a complete repeat of the first as Jayaram took a 7-1 lead before stretching it to 11-7 at the break. There was no respite for Pawar after the interval either as Jayaram held the upper hand and reached the final four stage of the competition.
Attri-Reddy crash out
Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy didn’t have the best of days time on Friday as they bowed out in the quarterfinals to Takuro Hoki and Yuko Kabahashi of Japan in three games 18-21 21-7 21-16
