It was a very mixed day for India at the US Open Grand Prix Gold as barring two of them, every other shuttler was eliminated from the competition in the second round.
HS Prannoy suffered a straight games but hard-fought loss at the hands of Lee Hyun II, losing 25-23 23-21. Ajay Jayaram won his match with ease, beating Pedro Martins 21-11 21-15 as did Anand Pawar, who won his game convincingly as well, beating fellow countrymen Pratul Joshi 21-11 21-13.

Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy continued their fine run ,beating Yuta Watanabe and Kenya Mitsuhashi in straight games 23-21 21-13.
The lone Women’s Singles contender Tanvi Lad bowed out of the competition, losing Beiwan Chang in straight games 21-17 21-15.
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa gave a walkover and the other doubles pair of Meghana Jakkampudi and S Poorvisha also lost their match.
