The world championship is something different. Sindhu reached the world championship final back in August. Although she couldn't manage to grab Gold, the star shuttler won everyone's heart by giving what could be described as one of her best performances.

In a challenging and tough match, Sindhu went down fighting 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 to Japan's Nozomi Okuhara. Played at the Emirates Arena at Glasgow, Sindhu wasn't able to pull the gold title.

The women's final of WBC was one of the best and second longest match of all time. The game lasted for an hour and 50 minutes where both the shuttlers despite being tired, gave their exceptional performance until the very end.

After this match, Sindhu told the media that she was happy at bagging Silver. Sindhu had won Bronze for two consecutive years in the 2013 and 2014 edition of the championship.

The Indian PM, Narendra Modi, along with many other prominent personalities congratulated Sindhu for her performance in the game.
