20th Commonwealth Games - Day 9: Badminton — Sindhu fought hard in the Hong Kong Open Superseries final, but came out second best in the end.

When Sindhu was playing her fourth Super Series final of the year, hopes were that she would bring home her third title of the year. Although this could not happen, she managed a Silver by gallantly fighting for the title.

Sindhu faced Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying for the second time in the same series in consecutive years. Both the player reached the finals of the series in 2016 as well where Tai Tzu Ying won the title.

Sindhu does not hold a good record against Ying. Of the ten matches both player faced each other before this game, Ying was ahead of Sindhu by 7-3. The pressure on Sindhu was high.

Although Sindhu tried to level up the match to her best efforts, she could not save herself from facing defeat. She lost the game by a 15-21, 17-21 margin.
