Parupalli Kashyap’s singles campaign at the Badminton Asia Championships came to an end on Thursday, after he was suffered a 23-21 17-21 8-21 defeat at the hands of Zhengming Wang of China in the pre-quarter stage of the tournament.
Game 1 saw both players go toe-to-toe, but it was the Indian who prevailed in the end, winning 5 consecutive points as compared to Wang’s 4 to take an early lead in the fixture. Thes seventh-seed Chinese through wasn't willing to give up so easily and came roaring back into the match, winning the second Game 17-21.

With both players having won one Game apiece, the match entered into the third and deciding game and, unfortunately, for India, Kashyap failed to raise his game and lost the game 8-21 and with that also the match.
It was not all grim news, though for India in the singles as PV Sindhu registered her second straight victory, defeating Teng Lok U of Macau 21-8 21-9 in her third round match on Thursday.
