After a week in Finland, badminton action will now head to the home of reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelson with the Denmark Open. India will field some of its biggest stars at the event, as they look forward to making up for a lukewarm outing at the Arctic Open last week.
Spearheading the nation’s quest for a title finish will be Lakshya Sen. The Paris Olympics semifinalist is the sole Indian in the men's singles draw, and will start his campaign in Odense against Lu Guang Zu, with a potential run-in into Jonatan Christie on the cards.
In the women's singles category, PV Sindhu will be in the hunt for her first win since the Games, as she takes on Chinese Taipei's Pai Yu Po. Other Indians in the draw include Aakarshi Kashyap, Malvika Bansod, and Unnati Hooda, with Kashyap drawing against seventh seed Supanida Katethong for her opening-round match.
Elsewhere,Treesa Jolly/Gayathri Gopichand and Rutaparna Panda/Swetaparna Panda will be on court for women's doubles, while Satish Kumar Karunakaran/Aadya Variyath and Sumeeth Reddy/Sikki Reddy will compete in mixed doubles.
