After an exciting week at the Malaysia Open, badminton action is now coming to New Delhi with the India Open. The Super 750 is scheduled to take place between January 14 and 19 and will see some of the world's best players fighting it out for the top spot.

Spearheading the Indian challenge will be the men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. Rankireddy and Shetty made it to the semifinals in their season opener at the Malaysia Open and will be in the hunt for their first title of the year this week.

Elsewhere, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen will lead the nation's men's singles contingent. Both the shuttlers had a lukewarm outing in Kuala Lumpur last week and will be hoping for better results on home ground. Joining them in the men's singles draw will be Priyanshu Rajawat.

The women's singles event at the India Open will see PV Sindhu take to the court for her first tournament of the year. The two-time Olympic medalist ended her 2024 on a high with a title finish at the Syed Modi International and will be hoping to continue that momentum here. Malvika Bandon, Aakarshi Kashyap, and Anupama Upadhyay will also be in action this week.

Apart from Rankireddy and Shetty, the doubles events in New Delhi will also star the women's doubles pairings of Treesa Jolly/Gayathri Gopichand and Ashwini Ponappa/Tanisha Crasto.
