Vancouver, July 2 (IANS) Indian shuttler Anand Pawar advanced to the men's singles third round of the $50,000 Canada Open Grand Prix at the UBC Thunderbird Arena here.
The fourth seeded Indian needed only 23 minutes to ease past local player Bobby Milroy 21-12, 21-11 in their first ever encounter.
Pawar will next take on unseeded Kuei Chun Shih of Chinese Taipei on Wednesday for a place in the quarterfinals.
Earlier, South Korean pair Ji Su Lee and Soo Hwan Ryu made short work of D. Guru Prasad and Venkatesh Prasad, beating them 21-17, 21-16 in only 25 minutes in the men's doubles first round.
