The 2012 China Masters Super Series is starting from next week. After the London Olympics, Parupalli Kashyap will be in action for the first time. And Ajay, Gurusai Datt and Sourabh Varma are set to accompany Kashyap in the Men’s singles section. On the other hand, in absence of Saina Nehwal, Young Pursarla Sindhu is the only Indian competitor in the singles division. The backbone of India’s Mixed and Women’s Doubles side, Jwala Gutta will not be in action while her Mixed Doubles partner Diju and her Women’s Doubles team-mate Ashwini Ponnappa have also withdrawn from the respective competitions. However, Ashwini will team up with Tarun Kona in the Mixed Doubles category.
2012 China Masters Super Series:
Men’s singles : Kashyap is 8th seeded and if he progresses, he will face 1st seeded Chen Long in the quarterfinals while Ajay will face the 3rd seed and Anand will face the 2nd seed if they progress as well.
Women’s singles : P Sindhu will face tough challenges in the second round and the quarters if she wins her opening encounter.
Men’s Doubles : The combination of Akshay and Pranaav, and Tarun and Arun are both unseeded.
Mixed Doubles : Tarun and Ashwini is seeded 8th in this competition.
2012 Japan Super Series:
Men’s singles : Kashyap is unseeded, Gurusai Datt will face the 7th seed and Ajay will face the qualifier in their first match. Anand and Sai are in the qualifying round.
Women’s singles : P Sindhu’s opening match is against a player who is ranked above her.
Men’s Doubles: The Men’s team of Akshay, Pranaav and Tarun, Arun are both unseeded.
Mixed Doubles: The duo of Tarun and Ashwini is unseeded in this competition.
