On day 4 of the Denmark Open, it will be interesting to witness matches of Saina Nehwal and Gurusaidutt R.M.V. in the Women’s Singles and Men’s Singles Category respectively. Both Indian players have performed well in the tournament so far.
Saina Nehwal, from the very first match, has been performing as per the expectations of her fans. She defeated Stefani Stoeva in her first round match by 21-16 and 21-12. On the next eve, she crushed Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland by 21-12 and 21-7. After her dominating performance in the first two rounds, the World No. 4 is expected to perform with same momentum and clear her way to Semi-finals.
Her opposition in quarter finals is the World No. 6, Korean Shuttler Ji Hyun Sung. The 22 Year old Sung has also performed well throughout the tournament. She registered a convincing victory against Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark by 21-3 and 21-15 in the first round, and also defeated Tsz Ka Chan by 21-10 and 21-14 in her second round of Women’s Singles category. The spectators will be excited to witness the fight as the match is expected to be a close encounter between these top ranked players.
In another category of Men’s Singles, Gurusaidutt R.M.V. will battle with the World No. 3 Pengyu Du of China. It will be a tough game for Indian contestant. Gurusaidutt is 24th in World Ranking. Yesterday, he defeated his country mate Ajay Jayaram in the second round match. On the other hand, his opponent Pengyu Du struggled in his first round match against Chen Chou of Chinese Taipei. He finally made a comeback and won the game by 21-12, 19-21 and 21-12. Later in second round match he faced Eric Pang of Netherlands and registered a win by 21-17 and 21-11.
The winners of these clashes will move ahead to the Semi-finals that are scheduled on 19th October, 2013.
