(2) PV Sindhu vs Beatriz Corrales at 6.45pm local time ie 10.15pm IST
Preview:
(8) Srikanth Kidambi (WR #8) vs Fabian Roth (WR #45)
Head-to-head: First meeting
Srikanth Kidambi is currently in the form of his life. The way he made the world champion Viktor Axelsen look pedestrian in the third game in their Denmark Open quarter-final should be enough evidence of that.
Fabian Roth, whose career-best ranking has been 34th, has come to this tournament on the back of a five-match losing streak. The newly-crowned Denmark Open champion is surely not the player the German would have liked to face in the first round.

(2) PV Sindhu (WR #2) vs Beatriz Corrales (WR #27)
Head-to-head: First meeting
Having clinched a couple of Superseries titles this year, PV Sindhu will be itching to bounce back this week after suffering a first round setback in Denmark last week. She faces the 27th ranked Beatriz Corrales, who has reached a career-high of 20 in April.
Corrales has performed well in the smaller tournaments in September. After winning the Belgian International, she extended her match-winning streak to eight before losing in the semi-finals of the Czech Open.
She has played in only one Superseries tournament this year prior to the French Open where she lost in the first round. Suffice to say, Sindhu’s big match experience will be enough to carry her through to the second round.

Saina Nehwal (WR #12) vs Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt (WR #34)
Head-to-head: First meeting
Saina Nehwal showed flashes of brilliance during her run to the Denmark Open quarter-finals last week. The first round was where she was at her brilliant best when she upset the Olympic champion Carolina Marin.
She ultimately ran out of energy in her quarter-final against eventual runner-up Akane Yamaguchi and will thus be eager to make a deeper run in Paris. Nehwal could not have asked for a better start after having been drawn against a player, who has not progressed past the first round in women's singles in any Superseries event this year.
Schedule for the rest of the Indian contingent:
