IBL auctions postponed by three days

The Indian Badminton League auctions have been put on hold for three days in lieu of the requests made by the team owners to organize a training auction prior to the primary auction. The auction was scheduled to be conducted on July 19 in New Delhi.

The IBL is organised to be held between August 14 and 31, with Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Delhi as the six city-based teams.

There are more than 150 players available for purchase in the auctions, but only 66 of them can make it into the six franchises.

Each of the franchises will have 11 players, with a maximum of four foreign players and one u-19 player, a rule quite similar to the Indian Premier League.

Prominent Indian stars Saina Nehwal, Jwala Gutta,Ashwini Ponnappa, PV Sindhu and Parupalli Kashyap will be five iconic players in the auctions, with one foreign player being the sixth one.
