The Indian women’s doubles pairing of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa moved into the finals of the 2015 Canada Open after beating Shiho Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto of Japan 21-17 21-16 in the semifinals on Saturday.
The opening game began on a topsy-turvy note with both players exchanging leads at different times, but the critical turn happened at the 14-14 mark, when the pair of Gutta and Ponnappa 4 points straight to go 18-14 up. That surge in points proved to be crucial and they eventually won the game 21-17.

The second game proved to be a less close affair as the Indian pair kept chipping away the points and maintained the lead over their opponents at all times to eventually seal the game 21-16 and move into the finals of the competition.
They will face the Netherlands pair of Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek in the summit clash.
