India’s Lakshya Sen clinched the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships in Bangkok after he bowed out in the semifinal stage of the competition in the individual leg of the event that was staged in Bangkok last week.
The 14-year-old lost to Sun Feixiang of China in straight games 21-12 21-16 to settle for the bronze medal. In December last year, Sen clinched the Under-17 Junior National Championships and in June defeated his elder brother Chirag Sen to win the All-India junior ranking badminton tournament.

This is India’s first Singles medal at the Asian Junior Championships since 2012, when PV Sindhu and Sameer Verma clinched the gold and the bronze medal respectively.
