India’s top ranked men’s singles player Parupalli Kashyap continues to retain his world number 14 ranking in the latest World Badminton Federation rankings.
Same was the case with Ajay Jayaram, RMV Gurusaidutt, Sourabh Varma, B Sai Praneeth and Anand Pawar who are placed 31st, 38th, 40th, 50th and 51st respectively.
K Srikanth is placed 62nd, while HS Pranoy clings on to his 86th spot.
Among the other Indians, Arvind Bhat stays at 105th spot, while Anup Sridhar and Chetan Anand are placed 108 and 110th respectively.
In the women’s singles, Saina Nehwal retained her number three ranking as did PV Sindhu, who is still perched at 19th.
PC Thulasi occupies the 94th spot, while Arundhati Pantawane holds the 107th spot. Neha Pandit is placed 109th while Tanvi Lad is ranked 113th.
Most of the rankings did not change much over the week as not too many tournaments were held at the year-end.
The rankings should witness the usual jumps and falls as the year’s first Super Series event – the Victor Korean Open gets underway at Seoul from January 8.
Top Indian men’s singles players like Parupalli Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram are expected to take part in the said event.
Kashyap would be looking to maintain his consistent run after his achieving his career-best singles ranking of 14 following his triumph in the Syed Modi International tournament.
