LeapStart kick starts 2015 All India Badminton Championships

Bangalore, 11th July 2015: The third edition of the LeapStart All India Badminton Championships in partnership with Yonex, begins in Bangalore from the 13th to 15th July, 2015 at CitiNest Activity Center, Indiranagar. Over 175 children have registered for the tournament from 30 schools across the city.

This National Tournament will be conducted across 6 cities (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad) and will see a total participation of 1,500 children from approximately 150 schools. The winners will be invited to Bangalore to participate in the National Finals.

The Tournament will be conducted for Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups for both boys and girls. The Bangalore leg will see participation from students of Greenwood High, DPS South, Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Vidyaniketan and other schools in the city.

This is the only private, non-medalist, National Badminton championship in India, giving children across the country, a platform to compete nationally, against talent from other regions. This tournament is a testament to the growing appreciation for the sport of Badminton amongst youngsters and the sheer number of children now pursuing it at a competitive level.

The first of 6 regional tournaments begin in Bangalore on Monday, July 13, 2015, followed by the National Finals.
