Two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan beat his compatriot Tian Houwei 21-18, 21-8 to be crowned the Asian champion. It was tough to separate the duo in the opening game as both had chances to go ahead, but unforced errors from both meant we had a fight on our hands.
The experience of Dan came to the fore at 18-18 in the opening game. He put pressure on Houwei with brilliantly placed forehands to win three points in a row to close out the game.
The second game was a one sided affair as Houwei made a string of unforced errors to never really pose a fight to Dan. This win couldn’t have come at a better time for the former World No. 1 who lost in the Malaysian Open final to Chen Long.
