World No.1 badminton player Lee Chong Wei failed a randomly conducted dope test. It was reported on 21st October that 32-year-old Lee was chosen randomly to be tested for dope. He shortly confirmed that he failed to pass the test.
Lee had been notified that he failed the test on Oct 1st, and had requested for the “B” sample to be carried out 16 days later.
However, it is still remains unknown in regards of the date when the test results over “B” sample would be announced.
Youth and sports minister from Malaysia Khairy Jamaluddin stated that the ministry stands strong in its zero tolerance policy towards the issue of doping among athletes.
