Third seeds Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy put up a brave display to book their place in the men’s doubles final of the Mexico City Grand Prix held at the Centro Deportivo Chapultepec AC on Saturday. The Indian duo lost the first game but came back strongly to beat the unseeded Thai pair of Puavaranukroh Dechapol and Kedren Kittinupong 22-24, 21-15, 21-8 in 48 minutes in the semi-finals.
They will meet another Thai duo – the 35th ranked Bodin Issara and Nipitphon Puangpuapech – in the title showdown on Sunday. The World No. 20 Indian pair had met the Thai combine as recently as last week where they lost to the Thais in the second round of the 2015 K&D Graphics / Yonex Grand Prix held in California, USA.
