India’s top men’s singles player Parupalli Kashyap jumped one spot to 19, to once again match his career-high ranking in the latest World Badminton Rankings, which were released today.
The Hyderabad lad reached 19th ranking last September following his splendid effort of reaching the London Olympic men’s singles quarterfinals.
In the women’s singles, Saina Nehwal continues to hold on to the number 3 spot. The country’s second highest ranked women’s singles player after Saina – PV Sindhu – dropped two places to 25th.
Among the other Indian women, Bahrain Open champion Arundhati Pantawane climbed three places to be at 112nd, while Neha Pandit fell one spot to 95. Tanvi Lad was another Indian woman, who fell six places to 104th.
Among the other Indian men’s singles players, Ajay Jayaram and Sourabh Varma continue to retain their 32 and 35th positions respectively.
Anand Pawar climbed 8 places to 47th following his title win in the Scottish International Tournament recently.
RMV Gurusaidutt and Arvind Bhat moved up one notch to be at 51 and 85 position respectively.
H S Pranoy climbed 3 spots to 89th while Anup Sridhar and K Srikanth moved up one place to be ranked 108 and 107th respectively.
Vastly experienced Chetan Anand jumped 2 spots to hold the 130th position.
Bahrain Open champions Sai Praneeth fell one spot to be ranked 64th.
