Spanish badminton star Carolina Marin has stated that she is ready for the third season of the Premier Badminton League (PBL) and is on her way to 100% fitness after recovering from her injury.
In case you didn't know...
Carolina Marin is a 24-year old Spanish badminton star who won the Rio Olympic gold medal last year, defeating Indian shuttler PV Sindhu in the final. Marin is also a two-time world champion, three-time European champion and the former World No.1 in BWF rankings in the women's singles category.
Marin is currently ranked World No. 4 in the BWF women's singles rankings.
The heart of the matter
Carolina Marin had sustained a hip injury during a match at the Hong Kong Open in late November. The injury caused her to miss the recently-concluded Dubai World Superseries Finals.
Marin has been undergoing rehabilitation for the injury since then and has stated that she is doing better, having had a successful recovery process. For the Premier Badminton League (PBL) that is slated to begin on December 23, Marin has expressed her availability for the entire duration of the PBL season.

Marin also expressed her desire to win the World Championship and the All England next year.

The Premier Badminton League (PBL) starts on 23 December and Carolina Marin will be seen in action representing the Hyderabad Hunters this season.

Carolina Marin's road to recovery has been good and the PBL season will allow her to get right back in the thick of things as the competition in the tournament will be of high level. The PBL could prove to be a right platform for Marin to get ready for the 2018 season on a positive note.
