P.C. Thulasi knocked out of the US Open Grand Prix Gold

In some more disappointing news coming in for Women’s Singles, India’s P.C. Thulasi was eliminated in the opening round of the US Open Grand Prix Gold after she lost 21-15 21-6 to Sayaka Sato of Japan in just 30 minutes on Wednesday.
Game 1 saw the Indian take an early 3-0 lead, but Sato stormed back into the match to win the next 5 points on the trot ta go 5-3 up. Thulasi, though, fought back to make it 5-5, but unfortunately, let the advantage slip again as Sato won the next 4 points on the trot to make it 9-5 in her favour.

The next couple of points saw both players, exchange leads, but at the 16-14 mark, when Sato made a decisive move to win the game, claiming 3 points at a stretch and eventually clinching the opening game 21-15.
The second game proved to a completely one-sided affair as Sato demolished Thulasi 21-6 to romp home with a win.
