After the excellent performance in the Men’s Singles and in the Women’s Doubles, disappointing news came India’s way in the other women’s doubles and the mixed doubles categories at the US Open Grand Prix Gold on Wednesday.
The women’s doubles pairing of Pradnya Gadre and Sikki Reddy couldn't make it two-out-of two for India as they lost their opening round match to Shino Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto of Japan 21-18 22-20 and bowed out of the tournament.
The mixed doubles pair of Tarun Kona and Sikki Reddy succumbed in the opening round to the Chinese Taipei pairing of Lu Chia Pin and Chia Hsin Lee in straight games 21-18 21-16 in just under half-an-hour.
