What's the story?
India's highest-ranked female badminton player, PV Sindhu has had an amazing year in 2017, which saw her reach as high as number two in the world. Sindhu won two BWF Super Series events this year, along with two runners-up finishes at the World Championships and the Dubai World Superseries Finals.
In an announcement made on Twitter earlier on Wednesday, Sindhu was very pleased to announce that she is launching her own application for both Android and iOS. The application's primary purpose is to connect with her ever-growing legion of fans.
In case you didn't know...
Sindhu won her first title when she was just 17 years old, with a gold medal at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games that were held at Douglas, Isle of Man. Since then, Sindhu has continued her mercurial rise and has cemented her status as one of the world's premier shuttlers.
The heart of the matter
The 22-year-old went live on her app after launching it earlier on Wednesday. The app is for her to interact and chat with her fans, who will also get access to exclusive videos and other content from Sindhu.
The app also allows fans to create their own communities within the app and communicate with each other. In her first live post, Sindhu thanked her fans for their support on this new venture.
What's next?
The first BWF Super Series Premier event of the new season kicks off on January 15th, 2018 in Malaysia, while the shuttler is currently in action in the third season of the Premier Badminton League.
Sindhu's fans will definitely be rooting for her all across social media, even more now with the launch of this application.
