Continuing on day three proceedings of the Yonex Denmark Open 2013, the Indian favorite Saina Nehwal once again rocked the show by her mesmerizing performance in the second round of Women’s Singles category.
In the second session of the day, which started at evening 5.00 p.m., the World No. 2 Chen Xu and Jin Ma of China defeated their Korean opponents Yong Dae and Seung Chan by 19-21, 21-18 and 21-8. It was a comeback game for Chinese players. They lost in the first game closely by 19-21. The game went neck to neck from the first go. In the second game Chinese made a good lead in the beginning of 12-7 but soon after that the Korean pair tried to minimize the difference and managed to get a lead of 16-15. In the remaining game Chinese pushed hard to register win in the second game. Finally in the decisive game the Chinese dominated from the early go and booked their slot in the third round of Mixed Doubles category.
In the match following Mixed doubles clash, Indian Superstar Saina Nehwal took over her Scottish opponent and made it look too easy to register her win. She defeated Kirsty Gilmour by 21-12 and 21-7 in an encounter which lasted half an hour. From the very beginning Saina look lead and never allowed her opponent to settle and gain confidence. She won by 21-12 in the first game. In her second game clash, Kirsty was overruled by Saina and was only able to score 7 points and lost in straight games. By this victory Saina cleared her way to the third round of Women’s Singles Category of Yonex Denmark Open 2013. She will face challenge in her third round tomorrow on 18th October, 2013.
