Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal is fit and raring to go this year after going through a barren spell in 2013 where she failed to win a single title.
Saina Nehwal will now start her campaign in the USD 500,000 Malaysia Super Series Premier which starts with the qualifiers on January 15, where she is seeded eighth.
Chinese shuttlers Li Xuerui and Wang Yihan are also placed in the first half of the draw, so it will not be an easy passage for Saina, who had made the semi-finals here the last two years and is likely to meet world number 30 Yao Xue of China in the second round if everything goes according to the order of seeds.
This will be Saina’s first tournament this year as she had decided to miss last week’s Korea Open after suffering from cough and cold.
Saina’s first match will be against Indonesia’s Hera Desi.
