New Delhi, Feb 21 (IANS) London Olympics quarter-finalist Parupalli Kashyap dropped out of the top 10 of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) men’s singles rankings released Thursday to be placed at No.11.
He had in January achieved a career-best ranking of No.9.
Meanwhile, Indian badminton queen Saina Nehwal retained her World No.2 ranking in the women’s singles. Saina’s Hyderabad city-mate P.V. Sindhu also kept her No.16 position.
Mumbai shuttler Ajay Jayaram dropped a place to be ranked No.32 while R.M.V. Gurusaidutt gained a place to be at 37 in the men’s singles.
The next major upcoming tournament will be the German Open Grand Prix Gold starting Feb 26 after a lay-off period since the Malaysia Open Super Series in mid-January.
The next tier-two tournament will be the All England Premier Super Series in the first week of March.
