Shimla, Aug 19 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday congratulated shuttler P.V. Sindhu, calling her the nation's pride.
Sindhu clinched a historic silver at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
"Incredible win for P.V. Sindhu. The game played with grit and determination. She is the nation's pride," the Chief Minister said in his congratulatory message.
This is India's first silver medal in badminton. Saina Nehwal won the first medal - bronze - for India in badminton in the 2012 London Olympics.
