India’s Siril Verma entered the quarterfinals of the Vietnam Open on Thursday, after beating Kean Yew Joh of Singapore in straight games 21-19 21-15 in the third round on Thursday.
The opening game proved to a tight affair, but the Indian showed good composure to seal the contest, winning it 21-19 to put himself in a good position to reach the quarterfinals.
He sealed the deal in the second game of the tie, with a 21-15 win that helped him progress through to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Barring his performance, it was a disappointing day for the rest of the pack. Aditya Joshi lost his match to Wong Wing Ki Vincent in straight games 21-11 21-16 as did Rituparna Das who lost to Chiang Mei Hu 21-19 19-21 21-14.
Siril will take on Lin Yu Hsien on Friday.
