Kona and Francis had a memorable time of late in the BWF circuit and scooped up two titles in the last two weeks. The back-to-back triumphs at the Guatemala International and the Peru International gave their ranking a huge boost as they jumped a total of 39 places to their current 93rd position.
At the Brazil International this week too, they were impeccable in their first four matches and did not drop a game en route to the final. The unseeded Indians had accounted for the second as well as the fourth seeds at this tournament.
