Hyderabad, Aug 18 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu have congratulated shuttler P.V. Sindhu for her historic win in the women's singles semifinal at Rio Olympics.
Chandrasekhar Rao hailed the achievement of the Hyderabadi, who became the first Indian woman shuttler to reach finals in an Olympics.
The Chief Minister, in his message, wished that she continue the same performance and win the gold medal for the country.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated the 21-year-old after she defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10 in the final to ensure a medal for India.
"Brilliant game on display by @Pvsindhu1. Congratulations to her & coach Gopichand on entry into Finals. Proud & best wishes," tweeted Naidu.
