The Miami Marlins are one of baseball's worst teams statistically, which makes Jazz Chisholm Jr. a likely trade candidate. Ever since they sent Luis Arraez to the San Diego Padres, they were essentially an open house. As the deadline approaches, the odds of a Chisholm trade are rising.
MLB insider Jon Morosi said that the star outfielder is absolutely available on the trade market, and the chances of a deal involving the center fielder are "now increasing." A couple of teams have already called the Marlins. If or when he does get traded, where might he end up?
Three teams who should look into a Jazz Chisholm Jr. trade
3) Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers might be in a tense fight the rest of this season. They lead the NL Central by 4.5 games. If they're going to fend off the St. Louis Cardinals and other teams, they will need to shore up some positions.
They're middle of the pack in center field depth by Fangraphs, so it is a position they might want to look into at the deadline. Jazz Chisholm Jr. might be one of the best and most realistic options at the spot.
2) Cleveland Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians lead the AL Central by five games, but it's not because of their center field depth chart. Per Fangraphs, they're ranked just 22nd in the league at the position. That's one of their worst position groups. Fortunately, Chisholm is available and likely won't cost as much as a true blockbuster deal would. That's ideal for an infamously cheap Guardians team.
1) Philadelphia Phillies
This entire season, the Philadelphia Phillies have had a center field problem. Their outfield as a whole is rather weak, but they rank 24th in Fangraphs depth for center field. It's a position that should be shored up, and Chisholm is the perfect player for them. His energetic play style would fit their clubhouse and likely endear their rowdy fans.
