Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization based in the United States and Canada. The origins of MLB can be traced back to 1903, when a national agreement was signed between the National League, American League, National Association. Currently the league serves as the highest level of professional baseball in North America.
The MLB consists of two leagues currently; the American League and the National League, where teams compete throughout the season all aiming for victory in the World Series, which is MLB’s championship event.
The league is currently the second-richest professional sport league by revenue followed by the National Football League (NFL) and has garnered a worldwide following. The league has a player presence with athletes from many foreign countries bringing their skills and passion to the game.

List of MLB Teams in Alphabetical Order with Year of Founding
Atlanta Braves is the oldest MLB team as they founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. They were part of the National League before MLB was formed. However, after their relocation to Milwaukee in 1953 and finally to Atlanta in 1966, gave them the name, The Atlanta Braves. Notably, the Chicago Cubs also claim to be the oldest team in the league. Other honorable mentions go to the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds.
