The New York Yankees made it to the World Series in 2024 but fizzled out in five games. They've since revamped their roster and are probably not done doing so yet. In the upcoming season, they will undoubtedly feel the pressure to be even better despite losing Juan Soto.

Here are five bold predictions for what 2025 could hold for the Bronx Bombers.

Bold predictions for Yankees in 2025

5) Giancarlo Stanton hits 50 HRs

Giancarlo Stanton is no longer the hitter he once was, but he showed glimpses of his old production in the postseason. If he can keep that form and stay healthy, 50 home runs, while a long shot, maybe within reach.

Stanton's speed has declined, but he still has one of the most powerful swings in baseball. He will hit behind Judge again and should be pretty protected in the lineup.

4) They don't miss Juan Soto

The Yankees' outfield defense could be better without Juan Soto. Aaron Judge in right field will be an improvement over Soto, and Cody Bellinger in center is a major upgrade over an out-of-position Judge.

On offense, it will be tough to replace Soto's 8.0 fWAR and 180 wRC+. However, with the balance the Yankees now have, those numbers might be achievable. Their offense should be overall more productive in 2025, which is a strong prediction.

3) Max Fried wins the Cy Young

In a full season, Gerrit Cole likely has the best chance out of all New York starters to win the Cy Young, but Max Fried is a major dark horse candidate. He's been one of the best southpaws in the game, and his stuff plays well in Yankee Stadium.

Fried has been dependable and nothing short of excellent for the last four seasons, so if he remains healthy, he could dominate en route to his first Cy Young award.

2) Aaron Judge hits 63 home runs

Aaron Judge hit 62 home runs in 2022. In 2024, he was better in virtually all offensive categories except home runs, when he hit 58. In 2025, our bold prediction is that he will break his record and hit 63 homers. If Judge continues to improve, then 63 might be a low bar.

1) World Series win

It may not be bold to predict that the Yankees will once again be one of the best teams in the American League, but it is bold to assume they'll be better without Juan Soto and still do what they couldn't with him: win the World Series.

If the LA Dodgers are on the other side again, it could be a different story. However, the National League is deep, and the Dodgers making it to the World Series isn't guaranteed. The Yankees stand a real chance of beating anyone in 2025, and this year, we predict they'll finally end their championship drought.
