Just a few days left before the MLB trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers need to resolve their pitching issues. The Dodgers have had bumps in their rotation due to increased injuries on their roster.

For that reason, the MLB trade 2024 is quite crucial for them. However, they also have to expend some of their players to gain a deserving starting pitcher.

Some players are expendable for the benefit of a good pitcher, but some are nearly untouchables, which could affect the roster on a deeper level if they're traded. So, let's take a look at such players:

Five Dodgers who are nearly untouchable during the trade season

1) Anthony Banda

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Anthony Banda from the Cleveland Guardians on May 17. Banda has been on the roster as a replacement for Bobby Miller and is improving with every game, holding huge strikeout chances.

However, his ERA has seen a drop in the past 15 days, from 2.38 to 2.45, while his WHIP has significantly improved. Banda is striving to become more consistent, but considering the dire straits of the Dodgers' pitching, it won't be wise to move Banda.

2) Teoscar Hernandez

Teoscar Hernandez became the first Dodgers player to win the Home Run Derby this season. Moreover, he's ranked 15th in home runs and 12th in RBI. He has hit a .267 average with a triple, 20 doubles, 21 homers and 35 walks.

Hernandez has been brewing massive numbers for the Los Angeles Dodgers and has made his mark in the franchise's history. In 102 games, he has homered 19 times, which makes up 4.9% of his base trips in total. So, the Dodgers must extend his contract.

3) Alex Vesia

Alex Vesia had a poor first half of the season but has improved a lot since then. He has become an integral part of the Dodgers' bullpen. Manager Dave Roberts commended the reliever on his tremendous improvement and hopes to see him do better in upcoming games.

Vesia has a 1.79 ERA with 0.95 WHIP and a WAR at 1.3, so he's doing pretty well as a Dodgers pitcher. He's worked hard to keep his position on the team intact.

4) Tyler Glasnow

Tyler Glasnow made a comeback on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants, which the Dodgers lost 8-3.

Glasnow gave away two runs on four hits in five innings but could return to his previous form through some adjustments this week, which he has proved many times.

His ERA of 3.47 isn't great, but his WHIP is consistent at 0.96. Glasnow needs to get used to the flow to become a valuable asset for the Dodgers.

5) Freddie Freeman

Freddie Freeman has started every game for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season and is one of the most reliable players on the roster.

He took a leave on Friday from the Houston Astros series opener to be with his ailing three-year-old son. But Freeman has always been on the field, working hard to lead his team to victory.

The Dodgers first baseman has blasted 16 home runs with 67 RBIs, 26 doubles, two triples in 105 games. He has slashed 288/.395/.493 with a .888 OPS this season, which makes him an untouchable player for the Dodgers amidst the MLB trade drama.
