The 2024 MLB season held some wholesome moments

For all the intensity, adversity and competition felt in the 2024 MLB season, there were still some wholesome moments that brought people together. From the first pitch of the preseason until the final out of the World Series, many hearts were warmed.

Today, we will be recapping some of the most memorably wholesome moments from the 2024 MLB season. Keep reading to see what they are.

Top 5 Wholesome Moments from the 2024 MLB Season

5. The Professor's Last Pitch at Wrigley

On September 28, Kyle Hendricks tossed his last pitch for the Chicago Cubs after a decade on the northside. A vintage member of the team who helped deliver the club's 2016 World Series - their first in 108 years - Hendricks tossed 7.2 innings of two-hit baseball and exited to a standing ovation from fans who had watched 'The Professor' since 2014.

4. Decoy's Debut

When it was revealed that Shohei Ohtani had adopted a Nederlandse kooikerhondje named 'Decoy', the fanfare of his furry friend rivaled that of the Dodgers' superstar. On August 28, ahead of a game against the Baltimore Orioles, Decoy marked his owner's Bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium by 'throwing' out the ceremonial first pitch.

3. Bryce Harper Promposal

Asking a girl to the prom can be daunting, but it is markedly easier when you have a two-time MVP to help you out. On May 20, Philadelphia-area high school senior Jake Portella knocked on Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper's door to enlist the star's help in a prom date.

That night, Jake and Harper showed up at Giulia Leonetti's door. Predictably, Harper helped Jake secure the prom date in a wholesome fashion.

2. Mookie Betts, Family Man

Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Dodgers' Game 2 win over the New York Yankees in the World Series. A family man, Betts was captured embracing his daughter Kynlee and his son Kaj after he helped his club go up 2-0 in the Fall Classic.

1. Hugging it Out

Although they battled it out big time during the World Series, the underlying respect between Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts and Yankees manager Aaron Boone was evident throughout the Fall Classic. Although tensions ran high, the two were seen embracing in the bowels of Yankee Stadium after Game 5 of the World Series. It was indeed a wholesome way to cap off the 2024 MLB season.
