Now with Christmas Day behind us, MLB continued its countdown for Opening Day, with Friday marking 90 days until the beginning of the new season. The offseason always seems both long and short as it feels like fans were just watching the Los Angeles Dodgers win the eighth World Series in franchise history.

As part of the Opening Day countdown, the league released a photo of a number of different superstars from across the league in their promotion. Some of the players highlighted by the league include Bryce Harper, Tarik Skubal and Kyle Tucker with a Chicago Cubs uniform on.

Although it seemed like an innocent photo of a collection of players, some fans from across the league noticed some glaring omissions, including arguably the most famous player in baseball: Shohei Ohtani.

"Wow no Ohtani in this? Admin must be crying."
"So the World Champion @Dodgers have no representation in this graphic? Wow," another fan said.
"Champs nowhere to be found on this graphic. Just a bunch of losers that didn’t win in 2024," one more fan added.

Although there are some other significant players who didn't make the cut, including Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, it didn't stop fans from sharing their excitement. From hype for the season to begin to seeing some of the biggest offseason acquisitions with their new teams, the excitement for Opening Day is palpable on social media.

"90 days until Juan Soto goes 4-5 with 3 HR and 6 RBI against Houston."
"Bring on the excitement and new season vibes already!" another fan added.
"Ninety days feels like an eternity, but baseball is worth the wait," one fan shared on social media.

It will be interesting to see all of the new faces with their new teams, including Juan Soto with the New York Mets, Kyle Tucker with the Chicago Cubs and Max Fried with the New York Yankees.

MLB's Opening Day is set for March 27, 2025

Opening Day 2025 is slated for March 27, 2025, which will be the earliest start time for any season. Although the first games of the new season will take place in Tokyo, Japan, as the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs will play a two-game series at Tokyo Dome on March 18 and 19.

While the Dodgers and Cubs will have already played a pair of games, March 27 will be the first time when all 30 teams will be in action in 2025.

There will be some intriguing matchups to open the season, including the Baltimore Orioles vs. the Toronto Blue Jays and the Houston Astros taking on the New York Mets.
