If there was one player who defined the 2022 MLB season, it was New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge.
The 6-foot-7 Yankees outfielder hit 62 home runs, smashing the previously held record set by fellow Yankee Roger Maris during the 1961 season. In addition to hitting those many home runs, Judge also pummeled 131 RBIs and drew 111 walks, leading the league in all three categories.
After the season, he was named the AL MVP and given a nine-year contract worth $960 million, making him the highest-paid positional player in history.

Had it not been for Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez, Aaron Judge would have also won the AL Triple Crown. If he had done so, he would have been the first player since Miguel Cabrera achieved the feat with the Detroit Tigers in 2012.
Needless to say, Judge's uncanny 2022 campaign put the expectations of the world on his shoulders. Let's take a look at how the big man is shaping up so far in spring training.
Although the New York Yankees have played 14 games in the Graprefruit League this spring, Judge has only appeared in six of them. This allows the 30-year-old to rest up for the season ahead and allows the Yankees to give younger blood a chance at some much-needed exposure.
So far, Judge has six hits in 11 at-bats this spring. In addition to a pair of doubles, all of Judge's RBIs and home runs thus far have come by virtue of a 3-run home run that he hit against the Piitburgh Pirates on March 7.

Judge is all but guaranteed to be the team's starting right fielder. However, manager Aaron Boone has used the Grapefruit League as a chance to experiment with different players at the position. Some notable names include Jasson Dominguez, a 20-year-old Dominican prospect.
Preseason is not a concern for Aaron Judge
A player like Aaron Judge does not need to concern himself with exhibition play. His main concern right now should be to stay as healthy as possible so that the superstar can be as big of a help to his team in 2023 as he was in 2022.
Judge is likely to be more than happy to sit out a few spring games to ensure he is all set to get cracking at the end of the month.
