Kirk started his involvement in baseball at the tender age of three. He received guidance from his father, who trained him as his coach. His association with the Toronto Blue Jays commenced in 2016 when he inked a contract with the team. Beginning his stint within the organization in 2017, he initially played for the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays, marking the inception of his professional baseball career as a rookie. Progressing through the Minor Leagues until the 2020 season, he earned a promotion to the Toronto Blue Jays in September of that year, marking his debut in Major League Baseball. Since then, he has remained a consistent member of the team.

Kirk started playing under the organization as a Rookie level player for the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in 2017. This was when he made his professional debut. He made his Major Leagues debut in 2020 with the same team. While in contract with the Blue Jays, he won the Silver Slugger award in 2022 and was part of the All-Star team in 2022 as well.
