Although his playing days are well behind him, Alex Rodriguez derives a great amount of personal satisfaction from performing his duties as a father. Recently, the ex-Yankees star took to social media to show off his daughter's theatrical prowess.
On Friday, A-Rod took to his personal Instagram account to show a stage production that his daughter Ella was starring in. In addition to referring to his 16-year-old as 'Beautiful Ella', A-Rod affirmed in the story that he is, indeed a 'Proud dad.'
A-Rod met the mother of his daughters, Cynthia, at a Florida gym in 2002, when he was a star for the Texas Rangers. After tying the knot, the pair welcomed daughter Natasha in 2004 and Ella in 2008. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, 2008 was also the year that he and Cynthia finalized their divorce.
Since late 2023, Rodriguez has been in a relationship with Canadian fitness influencer Jaclyn Cordeiro. Bound by their shared passion for fitness, self-care and social media, A-Rod appears to have found his perfect match.
Cordeiro, 44, has two daughters. However, that has not stopped her from taking on the role of surrogate mother to Natasha and Ella Rodriguez. Last year, Cordeiro went to the University of Michigan - where Natasha studies - to support her stepdaughter in a stage production of Oklahoma!
"Alex Rodriguez celebrated his 49th birthday in style aboard a yacht, surrounded by Jaclyn Cordeiro, his children, family, and friends. The festivities were made even more special by the presence of his 88-year-old mother, who joined the celebration. @Backgridus" - backgridus
From 2017 until 2021, Alex Rodriguez was in a relationship with singer Jennifer Lopez. Although the pair seemed happy together, Lopez and the former New York Yankees star eventually decided to part ways.
Alex Rodriguez enjoys the journey of fatherhood
With one of his daughters now in college, it will not be long before Ella comes of age and leaves Rodriguez as an empty-nester. For Rodriguez, now 49, the journey of seeing his daughters grow up is an edifying one. As he wrote on social media earlier this year:
"The only thing that humbles you faster than a being a dad, is being a college dad"
He may never make it to the Baseball Hall of Fame, but based on his devotion, it appears as though A-Rod is doing everything in his power to be a Hall of Fame father.
