Alexander Brady Verdugo, commonly known as Alex Verdugo or "Dugie," is an American professional baseball outfielder for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). he was born on May 15, 1996, in Tucson, Arizona. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs 209 pounds. Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round of the 2014 MLB Draft, Verdugo made his MLB debut on September 1, 2017.

A standout at Sahuaro High School in Tucson, he excelled as a two-way player, amassing 26 wins with a 2.19 ERA and 401 strikeouts while also hitting .486 with 16 home runs and 145 RBIs. His exceptional high school performance earned him a spot on the National team for the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game, where he was named MVP. Originally committed to Arizona State University, Verdugo chose to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers instead.
